Two new Big Bore pistols in the FN Striker-Fired lineup with industry-leading capability, control, and accuracy
FN America, LLC is pleased to announce the release of two new firearm pistols: the FN 510™ Tactical, chambered in 10mm Auto, and the FN 545™ Tactical, chambered in .45 ACP. Both of these large-caliber pistols feature an industry-first capacity, with a standard capacity of 15 rounds and 22+1 10mm rounds or 18+1 .45 ACP rounds from the extended magazines. In the style of the FN 509® Tactical, both pistols also feature a threaded barrel for muzzle devices, optical cutaway for red dots, and suppressor-height night sights. Whether you’re hiking in the field or defending your home front, the FN 510 Tactical and 545 Tactical provide the ability to meet any possible situation with accuracy and precision, in a highly controllable package.

Chambered in two of the most popular self-defense calibers, 10mm and .45 ACP, the FN 510 Tactical and 545 Tactical pistols offer industry-first capabilities in an overall package not much larger than the FN 509. At just 1.45 inches wide and just 6 inches tall with the standard magazine, these powerful defensive pistols pack serious performance in a full-size package that’s still concealable and comfortable to shoot.
“We pioneered the tactical feature set on the FNX-45 and FN 509 tactical pistols, introducing the industry’s first pistol to ship from the factory with a threaded barrel, optic mount and extended capacity, and thus far, the FNX- 45 Tactical had the highest capacity of any .45 ACP pistol available from the factory,” said Chris Johnson, senior product manager, pistols, for FN America, LLC. “This expansion into new large-bore calibers has been long in the making and we are excited to offer these pistols with this unprecedented capability – 18+1 on the FN 545 Tactical and 22+1 on the FN 510 Tactical – along with the features that our customers look for an FN tactical pistol”.
Characteristic styling and ergonomics of the FN 509 family of pistols, such as enhanced grip texture, interchangeable rear straps, and sliding ridges, allow for superior control in managing the recoil of these powerful cartridges. Weighing in at just over 30 ounces, these heavy-duty defensive pistols efficiently tame the recoil of 10mm Auto and .45 ACP. Double action pistols produce a crisp shot that weighs approximately 6 pounds. Effective recoil management and a crisp, repeatable trigger pull allow users to stack rounds on target.
Equipped with FN’s patented Low-Profile Optics Mounting System™, which is compatible with all major optical footprints, consumers have the ability to directly mount almost any optic in minutes with the included hardware. The suppressor height night sights’ tritium inserts witness mounted optics, offering a viable backup sighting option in the event of optics failure.
The 4.7-inch barrels are cold-hammer-forged and threaded with a 0.578″x28 thread pitch, making them compatible with the vast majority of available muzzle devices. The barrel also features a recessed target crown to protect rifling and maintain accuracy. The notched wings of the sight that sit on top of the slide protect the rear iron sights from shifting in the event the pistol is dropped or shaken, and act as a supporting surface for the slide.
These powerful pistols are available in both black and Flat Dark Earth (FDE) and ship with a 15-round magazine and an extended magazine: 22+1 for the FN 510 Tactical and 18+1 for the FN 545 Tactical. They ship with a premium soft-sided ballistic case that provides ample storage for the pistol, spare magazines, and other accessories.
