PROOF Research® Greg Hamilton and Nightforce Optics Sean Murphy Take Home First Place in Dark Corner Concepts Real World Sniper Challenge

The team of Hamilton and Murphy start 2023 at the top of their game with sniper rifles equipped with PROOF Research® barrels in the grueling three-day sniper challenge.

PROOF Research® Weapons Test Specialist Greg Hamilton and Sean Murphy of Nightforce Optics won first place in the Real World Sniper Challenge presented by Dark Corner Concepts. The event took place April 21-23 at Bridle Iron South in Refugio, TX, USA.

The Real World Sniper Challenge is a highly anticipated event that attracts some of the most skilled sniper shooters in the world. The competition is known for its challenging and realistic scenarios, designed to test participants’ shooting skills and tactics in real-world situations. Teams were required to carry a minimum of 200 rifle rounds and 150 pistol rounds, in addition to all their other equipment during the three days of continuous operations. In addition to performing navigation, construction, spotting, and stalking, along with KIMS and casualty care, the teams engaged targets at known and unknown ranges at alternate firing positions.

Hamilton and Murphy demonstrated their exceptional skills by taking first place in the competition, beating out a group of talented competitors. The duo’s performance showcased their superior teamwork and ability to adapt to the various challenges thrown at them throughout the competition. The team attributed much of its success to its hardware. Sean sported a 24” PROOF Research carbon fiber Creedmoor 6.5 preset barrel on his Accuracy International, and an 11.5” PROOF Research carbon fiber barrel on his gas pistol. Greg used a PROOF Research 20” stainless steel barrel in his 6.5 Creedmoor gas pistol. The victory, once again, highlights the quality and performance of PROOF Research kegs in extreme conditions.
