Celebrating 75 years: Dave Schluter

St. Croix Rod is celebrating its 75thhe anniversary in 2023. We’re proud of our 75 years in business and the control we have over our reed-making process: hand-crafting the world’s best reeds right here in North America. We are proud to have been owned by the same family for the last 46 of those years. Most of all though, we are grateful to you, our anglers, for the trust you have placed in us to add value to your valuable time and experiences on the water.

St. Croix co-owner Dave Schluter says he remembers how proud his father Gordon was 25 years ago when St. Croix celebrated its 50th anniversary.

“Gordon was passionate about St. Croix. He is the people; the heart and soul that our people give to this company that has been located in the same little town since 1954. I remember our 50th anniversary, and that was hard to believe. But that was 25 years ago. It seems like it just happened. I think my proudest moment was our 50th anniversary and seeing my father on the podium. Just seeing that satisfaction in his eyes; that he brought me the greatest pride. Gordon is looking down with a smile on his face and I know he is extremely pleased. He presented an opportunity that others could take advantage of. I think he would be very happy with the results. To our St. Croix anglers and team members, I thank you for 75 years of support and for being a part of our St. Croix family. That support has been and continues to be greatly appreciated.”
