How do I get a library card?

  • Visit our library and show us acceptable identification that includes your name and address. After you fill out a membership application form you will be issued a free library card.
  • Regarding children or young adults under the age of 18 years of age, a parent or guardian will have to fill out a membership application form and sign for them.

What can I do with my library card?

The Louis Riel Institute Heritage Library offers a variety of materials and collections you can utilize including:

  • Books
  • Magazines
  • CDs
  • Videos
  • DVDs

Lost or damaged cards

If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, please report it immediately to the Louis Riel Institute Heritage Library. All items on your library card will be your responsibility until the card is reported missing. The cost of a replacement membership card is $3.00.

Please:

  • Take care of your card. Do not let others use it.
  • Take care of library material and return borrowed items in good condition.
  • Return borrowed materials on time.
  • Let us know immediately, if your name, address, phone number or email address has changed.
  • Report a lost or stolen card immediately.

The library cardholder agrees to be responsible for all material borrowed and to abide by the rules and regulations of the Louis Riel Institute Heritage Library. If the cardholder is under 18, the parent is responsible for all materials borrowed.
