Borrowing Information
To withdraw books from the Louis Riel Institute Heritage Library, you need a valid student/general borrower library card.
Materials designated reserve cannot be signed out . Patrons have to use the materials at LRI.
Late fees are:
Books .35 cents per day maxium of overdue fees of $10.50
Video/DVDs & CD 2:00 per day with maxium over due fee of $18.00
Renewals
Most library material and items can be renewed via telephone at 204-984-9480. Please be advised that some items, including magazines, bestseller books, DVDs, have limited borrowing periods.
You can renew your item(s):
• As long as no one has put a recall on the item
• If you have not reached the maximum number of 3 renewals allowed
• If your membership has not expired or expires before the next new due date
• If your unpaid late fees do not not exceed $5.00 or you have five items overdue
If an item cannot be renewed, the current due date remains in effect
Requests
You need your library card to place a request, whether in person, on-line or by telephone. You can also suspend your request at any given time by calling the Louis Riel Institute Heritage Library at 984-9480. When you place a request, your name is placed on a waiting list for any item that is not currently available. Please tell staff how you would like to be notified when items are ready for pick up. The maximum amount of requests you may place at any given time is 3.
DVDs/ Videos
All DVDs, VHS, and CD recordings are avaliable for borrowing, free of charge to all library card holders. However, a lost/damage fee is charged for the replacement cost of the DVD, VHS and CD recordings if it has been lost or damaged.
Limitation of liability
The Louis Riel Institute Heritage Library shall not be held liable for any damage to audio, video, or computer equipment or software resulting from the use of library materials.
